For some reason, it seems that decision-making in SaaS lives just at two extremes:
- “Every decision we take is randomly selected from what I think it’s best for our product”
- “We will use a data-based prioritization framework to make our decisions. The item that has the most points will be our final decision, no question asked”
People swing from one extreme to the other, reacting to the fallacy of both.
The middle ground, “Let’s take data into account and then make an informed decision” is often dismissed as too naive.
